  • What’s included in a bath & blowdry treatment?

Baths include 1-2 cycles of shampoo, 1 cycle of conditioner, followed by hand-dry and blow dry.

  • What does a haircut include?

Every haircut includes 1-2 cycles of shampoo, 1 cycle of conditioning, a towel dry (to reduce blow-dry time), a high speed-blow dry, a sanitary trim, pad trim (to keep dirt, debris and matting out), and a nail trim.

  • What is a deshedding treatment, why is it required & how often?

A deshedding treatment is required for dogs that have double-coats.

Deshedding treatments are a 3-step process that removes dead and loose fur from your dog's coats. Desheds help aerate and clean their coats.

They also help to keep your floors, couches and beds, as well as the air in your home clean. In normal and healthy conditions, we observe that deshedding treatments remove up to 90% of their shedding-fur.

Every deshed treatment includes 2 cycles of shampoo, 1 cycle of conditioning, a wet brush out, towel dry, followed by a high-speed blow dry. It’s finished with an additional dry brush-out to remove all the fur that the blow dryer loosened, as well as a sanitary trim, and a pad trim (to keep any potential feces and debris off of your dogs body!)

Lastly, we finish with a cool-mist spray that repels dust and helps your dogs coat stay fresh and smelling clean between grooms!

Deshedding treatments are recommended every 6, 8, or 12 weeks. It depends on your dog's coat and activity level.

  • What is an undercoat, and how do I know if my dog has one?

Shedding dogs have two coats (undercoat and top coat). These are any dogs that are not hypoallergenic, and dogs that shed fur.

An undercoat is a special layer of fur that works to keep dogs cool in the heat (as protection from the sun) and warm in the winter (as protection from the cold and water).

Contrary to popular opinion, double-coated dogs don’t usually get haircuts. Haircuts can ruin a dog's undercoat and their natural protective mechanisms.

Rather than getting haircuts, double-coated dogs need de-shedding treatments. De-shedding treatments help your dog feel cool & conditioned.

  • My dog’s hair is matted. Do I need to cut the hair short?

It's important that we remove the matting because it's unhealthy for your dog's skin, and even causes sensitivity and pain.

If the dog's coat developed mats, we try to remove the mats at the site and let the rest of the haircut go undisturbed. If we aren't able to comb the mats out without causing the dog pain, we will try to cut the mats out at the site.

If there are too many mats, or your dog's coat is too tangled, we will have to go shorter than we would have originally wanted to. In this event, we will always be sure to call the owner to make them aware of the situation and get their permission to proceed with the groom.

We will always try to preserve as much length as possible, make sure that your dog is comfortable and safe and receiving reassurance.

  • What about older pets?

Older pets often require special care and attention. We recommend that they be groomed short so that they don't need to come in as often, and so that their drying and grooming time is minimized.

  • What’s included in a bath & blowdry treatment?

Baths include 1-2 cycles of shampoo, 1 cycle of conditioner, followed by hand-dry and blowdry.

  • How old should my puppy be before he gets his first groom?

We recommend having your puppy become familiar with grooming as early as possible after the first set of puppy shots. This helps them embrace grooming as a part of life that can be pleasant and enjoyable, with a great outcome (a lighter, cleaner coat).

  • What if I need my pet to stay longer than the time to groom him / her?

If you’re not able to pick your dog up within half an hour, just let us know. Every kennel is vacuumed and sanitized daily. We equip them with fresh water each time, and we will give your dog a treat if you allow it.

  • Can I bring a picture of how I want my dog styled?

Bringing in pictures help us better understand what you want. We will go over every aspect of the groom with you: how short you want the haircut, how you want their tail to look, as well as like their head, eyebrows, beard and cheeks to look too.

If you are getting a picture of your dog's breed off of google, be mindful that your dogs hair may not be long enough to achieve your desired look. Our groomers will work as close as possible to create the shape that will help your dog achieve your desired look.

  • Do you do anal glands?

Some veterinarians prefer that groomers NOT express the glands, therefore we do not do this except upon request. Most dogs over a certain weight threshold empty anal glands naturally. Please consult with your veterinarian.
